3 Ingredients Lassi

Lassi

Hello beautiful peeps!

It has been a productive week so far. Lots of things getting done but plenty more left too. The weather has been really hot lately. Every time I go out for a few hours, I come back home a shade darker. The sweltering heat and humidity, I am most certainly not made for this weather. I guess I must have been a polar bear in my previous life and I am not joking. *straight face*

The hot weather makes me thirst for cold juices and smoothies every single day. If I had it my way, I would want to savor glasses of smoothies daily, but I’m too lazy at times. Even bringing out the smoothie maker could be a chore at times and washing it? Don’t even get me started on that.

In some ways, I am always game for a glass of Lassi. Just the thought of enjoying a glass of this delicious thing perks me up. It could also be due to the simplicity of the ingredients. Plus, this is the perfect drink for the hot and muggy summers! I mean, how can you say no to just THREE ingredients?

Lassi is a traditional drink that is super popular in India. It is basically a yogurt-based drink and there are two types of these, sweet Lassi and savory Lassi.

Lassi

Lassi is a blend of yogurt, water, sugar and sometimes spices. Whether sweet or savory, a glass of Lassi is always refreshing. A savory lassi might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but sweet lassi are really popular all across the globe. Fruits can be added to lassi and a very popular one would be mangoes. Mango Lassi is extremely delicious and it is a favorite with a lot of people, including my family.

Traditionally, Lassi’s are made using a whisk, but nowadays, using a blender to prepare it makes it more convenient. Although lassi is commonly made with water, If you prefer a richer and creamier lassi, you can substitute water with milk.

If you are looking for something cool to beat the heat, give this 3 ingredients lassi a try. It is not only delicious, but also a much healthier choice than those soft drinks that are commercially made.

3 ingredients in 3 minutes and under 100 calories? Win win win!
