Round the World Cookies

These were made  for a cousin who just gave birth. Made 2 types of cookies for her to serve to her guests. This is an old recipe that mom used to make when I was a kid. She used to make these often back then, till I took over the kitchen duties and started trying and making more recent recipes. These cookies are called “Keliling Dunia” which literally translate as “Round the World”. I have no idea as to why these cookies were named as such but these are delicious and super crunchy!

Round the World Cookies

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz Castor sugar
  • 6 oz butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 7 oz all purpose flour
  • 5 oz semolina
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar till creamy. Add in yolk and vanilla.
  2. Mix in semolina and flour
  3. Using a cookie cutter, shape as desired.
  4. Bake at 160 degrees Celsius for about 20-25 minutes.
