- 2 litres water
- 12 apples quartered (I use a mix of honey-crisp, fuji and granny smith)
- 1 large orange quartered
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or more, depending on your taste)
- Place the ingredients in a slow-cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours.
- Alternately you can combine everything in a large pot and cook over medium heat for 3 hours or until the apples begin to break down.
- Once done, strain the mixture through a mesh strainer, discard the fruit and cinnamon sticks.
- Strain twice.
- Serve warm or cold.
