Mango Orange Sago Dessert

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large ripe mango (cut into small cubes)
  • 400 ml fresh milk or 200 ml evaporated milk diluted with 200 ml cold water
  • 150 ml whipping cream
  • 300 ml mango juice
  • Sugar (3-4 tbsp, depending on how sweet your mangoes are)
  • 1/4 cup sago pearls
  • 2 oranges, peel and remove most of the membrane OR 1 can mandarin oranges

Instructions

  1. Place half of the mango cubes, sugar and the mango juice in a blender. Blend till smooth.
  2. In a bowl, place pureed mango, milk and whipping cream. Leave this mango sauce in the fridge to cool.
  3. Put a small pot of water to boil. Once boiling, add the sago seeds. Lower heat and cook for around 10 minutes or till the sago seeds turn translucent
  4. Pour into a sieve and give the sago a quick rinse.
  5. Drain the sago and add it into the bowl of mango sauce.
  6. Add the oranges and mango.
  7. Cover the bowl with a cling wrap and let it cool in the fridge till ready to serve.
