Ingredients
- Half a watermelon, cut into cubes (about 5 cups)
- 1/4 cup sugar (more if your watermelon is not sweet)
- Juice of 2–3 lemons (see notes)
- 1 cup chilled water (for blending)
- 1/4 cup hot water (For simple syrup)
Instructions
- Cook the sugar in 1/4 cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring
occasionally, until the sugar is completely melted. - Alternatively, you can just dissolve the sugar in 1/4 cup of hot water. This works just as well.
- Squeeze lemons into a large pitcher.
- In a blender, blend watermelon and some water in batches
- Pour this mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into
the pitcher . - Add
in simple syrup and stir to combine. - Serve over ice.
Notes
Use 2 lemons if you prefer it mildly sour. If you prefer it sour, you can use 3 lemons.
